inspiration
My work draws upon the many visual and tactile pleasures of this
world. I find joy in creating a canvas for the found stone to be
admired as the gem I see it as, allowing for the up-cycled fabrics
to be as beautiful as they already are.
I take great pride in purchasing the raw materials for my metalwork
from a refining company whose entire precious metal supply is 100%
recycled.
These found items, textiles and metals which already exist before us,
can be seen and celebrated as they are made into decorative and
wearable art.
Each piece is designed and handmade by me.
care
Much of my work incorporates handmade felt. Felting is the oldest form
of fabric making, predating yarns and threads of which most modern
cloth is woven. During the felting process fibers are vigorously
massaged with soap and water, binding together to form an amazingly
versatile and strong material.
Refresh or clean your felted wool by hand washing with soap and patting dry.
To restore polished surfaces of metalwork, use soft synthetic wool and
soapy water to lightly shine, being careful not to remove desired patinas.
